Intake process
After the initial application and admission criteria are assessed and approved, the applicant will be asked to come to the Behavioural Health Foundation’s St. Norbert location for an interview. The intake process will consist the following:
- Applicant reading the Men’s, Women’s and Family program description before the start of the intake interview.
- An interview is conducted by three residents and consists of written and verbal information on the applicant’s history. His/her expectations of the program and an explanation of the program components are also discussed.
- The applicant is provided an orientation to the facility and introduced to the other members and staff. Immediate needs for such things as clothing, room, toiletries, etc. are looked after.
- Should an applicant not be accepted, the Director of Men’s, Women’s and Family Program will provide, upon request, the reason(s) for not accepting the applicant
